A Camping We Did Go!

Yeah so I realize I've been a bit of a slacker in the posting department.  June was pretty quiet and as usual I got inconsistent with fitness after my half.  I ran a few times, cycled a few times and went to the gym a couple times.  I ate pretty mediocre.  Now we're almost half way through July and I'm getting back to where I want them to be.

The first weekend of July was a wonderful weekend for me.  We went camping and I love camping.  This year was the same group of people and the same campsite as the one we always go to but the trip was different for me.  See I usually see camping as a free for all when it comes to eating and drinking.  This year I made a conscious effort to eat well and not drink too much (aside from water of course).  I also brought my bike and running stuff AND used them.  I always bring my running stuff but have yet to actually use it.  Until this year.  I ran on the first morning we were there.  It was a beautiful early morning run.   Then we biked all over the camp grounds through the weekend.  We didn't take the car at all.  It was a great weekend and a great start to the month.  I'm feeling pretty good about July.  We have lots planned and most of it involves physical activity of some sort including another camping trip.  It's taken a long time but I seem to be getting this fitness thing a little more every day.

This weekend was also great!!  Saturday we had a block party and I stuck to my plan if one plate of dinner.  Sunday we went for a nice long bike ride with the girls to the local beach and carousel.  We hung out there for a couple hours then took a nice long ride home.  Everyone was exhausted hot when we got home so of course we went into the pool to cool down.  It was a great day of being unplugged and disconnected.  

Now onto another week of work and fun.  Almost vacation time!!  Two more weeks!
